I recently visited the Gallery Inn in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. It was one of those places where the picture just doesn’t do it justice. The owner is a sculptor, and her work is spread throughout the 300 year old mansion. All the rooms are unique. The light is a photographer or painter’s dream – soft and spilling. There are resident cockatoos and parrots and vegetation everywhere. There is a small grotto pool, and a roof top deck looking over Fort Morro, Old San Juan and beyond. I captured some gorgeous images of the owner’s sculpture – and I hope she’ll be interested in using them for her business in exchange for letting me show them. If you are looking for a wonderful place to go, can live without a TV, overlook the oddities a 300 year old home presents, then you might love this place as much as I do.
