Snowy Owl

Snowy owl enjoys the sunshine near Horseneck Beach, MA.
Some interesting Snowy Owl Facts:

  • The Snowy is the largest North American owl.
  • They have a wing span of 54-66″.
  • Only their face is pure white.
  • They can’t move their eyes, but they can spin their head 270 degrees.
  • Their face, beak, legs,and feet are covered with a fine fur like feather.
  • They eat voles, lemmings, and other small rodents, as well as other birds.
  • The MA Audubon has been working to protect Snowy Owls in North America.
