Each photograph feels like a fleeting experience to me – a very brief moment in time I am unlikely to experience again. Our lives can be a string of these if we don’t get lost in the past or future.
Travel is a series of fleeting moments – exposure to new people, places, food, culture, animals. And it is fleeting – we may have anticipated and prepared for months for the event, and then before you know it, we are home with our photographs and memories of sights, sounds, smells.
My most memorable fleeting moment? I was on an avon, taking pictures of grizzly bears when I looked over and saw this. All photographers know that if we don’t snap it when we see it, it’s gone.
