Eagles in the Rain

The highlight of this estuary was the number of eagles all about. (approx 20 or so) It felt like this picture there – cold, wet, and rain that went from driving to mist. The people I am traveling with are all a pretty hearty bunch so we just dressed for it and set off in the ding boats. It was a magical place to walk about.

In addition to the eagles, we saw bear scat along the river (but no bears) and lots of Bonaparte Gulls. The harbor seals were really funny, poking their curious pussy cat like faces out of the water to watch us as we traveled in the dings, and surrounding us at one point. It was a great start to our trip.
